No, NO and NO!!!

Our editor was sitting back enjoying the lure coarsing at Albion Hills when a gathering around a certain JRT got her attention. After making his catch Feisty Forest showed her the book on JRT determination.

NoNoNoNo

and No

No

He did finally let go and our editor was curious to find out more. We hear he has needed every ounce of his feisty character for almost all his life. His current owners very much appreciate his fine character and say he has highly developed hunting instincts. They rescued him from the abuse that he only knew for the first five years of his life. Now we are sad to hear he has to fight another battle - having found wonderful caring owners he was diagnosed with Lymphoma just last week. But will this slow him down ? A resounding

NO

from his owner and our editor saw it with her own eyes.

Our HUGE JRT hugs go out to this amazing guy!

Hi! just saw your article and it made me sad-just wondered how your dog was doing???? Charlie (with the Toronto maple leaf jersey from the nationals 2007) lost her fight with lymphoma just before Xmas. She had 5 months with me without chemo and was happy and a JRT till a week before she passed. If you want someone to talk to who has gone through it give me a call-also I had Charlie on a diet rich in omega 3’s and I think this is the reason she lasted much longer than the vets predicted (and the fact she’s a Jack?!?!?! Take care Lori

I have wonderful news about Forrest Gumpy!!! He started to go downhill right after Christmas. We saw that he had so much will and fight to live that we decided to give Chemo a try… We found an amazing vet in Buffalo NY that had amazing success in treating lymphoma… After just one treatment Gumpy’s lymphnodes are down. We can no longer see or feel them. Today he had his second treatment and the vet is sure he is in remission. We will know in the morning what the blood tests say.

Jacks are true fighters until the end. !!!! I am so sorry to hear about Charlie.. I am in tears just thinking about it.. Next weekend Forrest Gumpy will be in Long Island with Ultimate Air dogs doing what he loves best, Dock Diving.. We would love to do his first jump of the event in Charlie’s name.

I would love to get in touch with you.. I just don’t have your phone number or e-mail…

Update on Super Gumpy!!!! Forrest Gumpy is doing amazing. He is getting stronger every single day.He is now in full remission and is back Dock Diving again. This weekend he was in PA with the Ultimate Air Dogs and went beyond everyone’s expectations. His biggest jump of the weekend was 17 feet 9 inches. Huge for his size and on a short dock.. He finished in the top 3 overall.. Our little guy was jumping with huge labs and kept up with all but one of them. there was one inch separating him and second place. He also place 3rd in a qualifying event for the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge..Nerves got the best of Sarah and it affected her throwing. Oh well we are just thrilled that they could make the event…

Best of all.. Little Forrest Gumpy broke UAD record of being the first little dog to participate in Ultimate Vertacle and be able to grab the bumper.. This is more of a high jump than distance. Gumpy had to be able to jump 4 feet 8 inches up and 8 feet out to grab the toy hanging over the pool.. Not and easy feet for a little dog.

We think there is much more to come from Gumpy . His next stop will be in Columbus Ohio the second weekend in March.. Things are still a day at a time with him but he is showing us that he is going to stick aroung for much longer.. We can’t wait to see what he does next.
