Jack Russell Terrier keeps Pet Detective Agency busy

The work of a pet detective agency caught our eye the other day. Well, we might have known - our bretheren Jack Russells are keeping them busy. They were looking for Chloe, when the Union-Tribune dropped in on pet detectives Annalisa Berns and Landa Coldiron, or missing animal response technicians as they prefer to be known. Chloe puts them to the test, tires out their bloodhound Ellie May and they turn up empty handed. Fortunately Chloe was found several days later. Wonder how many escaped JRTs are on their caseload?

Thanks for posting about the story in the Union Tribune and our work.

JRTs are packed full of energy, and are known to dig out of back yards. They are on the top of my list of dogs that are difficult to find because they can travel great distances and even escape from people who try to rescue them. This means that it is critical to keep your JRT close and your eye on them all of the time. I would not leave a JRT in the back yard alone. If I had a JRT I would keep it in a run or a double fenced area with locks! And of course, ALWAYS keep a collar and tags on your pet friends - even if they get a bath, are always with you, etc. Accidents happen!!!

Another interesting piece of information - my business partner Landa Coldiron works a JRT. Apache is a great little dog, and looks for cats under houses! For pictures and information about Apache, check out www.lostpetdetection.com

Thanks for that story which again suggests that many pet owners will do almost anything for their furbabies.
